Urbana School District Hosts Family STEM Night

Date: December 13, 2012 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Urbana School District #116 will host a family STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) night on Thursday, December 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Urbana Middle School (UMS).

Urbana students will give presentations (elementary students from 6 to 6:30 and middle and high school students from 6:45 to 7:15) on various STEM subjects. There will also be active demonstrations from a host of local STEM professionals and outreach groups including: UIUC Veterinary Student Outreach program, UIUC Material Advantage, Society of Women Engineers, Orpheum Children’s Science Museum, Center for Nanoscale Chemical-Electrical-Mechanical Manufacturing Systems at UIUC, Illinois State Geological Survey Prairie Research Institute, Xerion Advanced Battery, Dioxide Materials.

A light dinner and snacks will be available for purchase. Parking will be available in the UMS North lot and on Vine Street. If you have any additional questions, please contact Tina Lehr, District STEM Coordinator at tlehr@usd116.org or 384-3582.
