Urbana Fire Prevention & Education Events
Children's Fire Muster: Held in the summer usually in late July at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana. Children should be prepared to get wet. Activities include a waterball contest, hosing a simulated fire, and sliding down a fire pole. Children will receive a participation ribbon. Fire equipment will be on hand to look at. This is a great opportunity to come out and meet your local firefighters.
Home Fire Life Safety: Fire Companies go door to door checking smoke detectors and offer free detectors or batteries for those that need them.
Safety Fair at the Square: Week of activities and plays at Lincoln Square Mall.
Fire Prevention Week: Week of activities and plays at Lincoln Square Mall.
Community Nights: A partnership with the Urbana Park District. The park district hosts a concert in every park in the city. The neighborhood fire engine brings fire safety info and is there to talk to their neighbors. This allows for the neighborhood to get to know the people that are protecting them.
