This week on C-U Mommy Connection, host and producer Marie Polk visits the Great Pumpkin Patch, outside Arthur, Illinois, and talks with fifth-generation family farmer Mac Condill.  Every autumn the farm, which has been in continuous operation since 1859, provides residents of East Central Illinois an opportunity to experience life on a real working farm.  Visitors may avail themselves of a u-pick pumpkin patch, a bakery selling home-made items, a variety of canned goods produced at the farm from produce grown there, heirloom seeds, tractor rides, mazes, schoolhouses from a bygone era, and a whole lot more. 

C-U Mommy Connection is a show produced exclusively for Urbana Public Television that's dedicated to moms, dads, caregivers and children in the newborn to 6-year age range.  The program connects families to resources available to them in the community, and explores topics important to them, including parenting, pregnancy, and child development and wellness.  It airs Sunday evenings at 8:30 pm and is repeated Tuesday nights at 11:30 pm. 

 Host and producer Marie Polk lives in Urbana, was born and raised in Danville, Illinois, has been married for thirteen years and has been a C/U resident for ten.  She's a first-time mom with a son turning one year old this month.  In addition to a busy professional and family life, she is also the newest member of the Urbana Public Television Commission.  C-U Mommy Connection began airing on UPTV in March of this year, and this is its 20th episode!
