Champaign County Courthouse 110th Anniversary sign Dedication

The City of Urbana and Urbana Public Arts Commission invite the public to attend the dedication of a commemorative sign celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Champaign County Courthouse, to be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the north (Main Street) entrance to the Courthouse.


 Designed by Joseph W. Royer and Frederick G. Brown, the Courthouse was originally dedicated on August 22, 1901. Mayor Laurel Lunt Prussing, Public Arts Commission chair Patricia Sammann, City Councilman Dennis Roberts, and Joseph W. Royer Arts and Architecture district subcommittee member Ilona Matkovszki will provide brief remarks.  Hot beverages from Piato will be available and the event is free and open to the public. The Champaign County Courthouse is located on the corner of Main Street and Broadway Avenue in Downtown Urbana.


The Urbana Public Arts Commission is the advisory board for the Urbana Public Arts Program, working to create a city where all residents engage with the arts in its many forms and where artists thrive and are valued.
