On Friday, October 3, UHS will hold their annual Homecoming Parade from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The parade will include the Homecoming King and Queen and their Court, UHS Marching Band, floats created by student committees representing student groups and grade levels, student athletic teams, and a variety of special guests and USD #116 administrators. The Court will also be introduced during the UHS boys varsity football game against Centennial HS.

Due to road construction, Urbana High School altered the Homecoming Parade route. The parade will start at 3pm and the new route is as follows:

  • The Parade begins on Race St. at Iowa.

  • Parade will immediately turn east on Washington St., going to Vine.

  • Turn north on Vine St. to Main.

  • Turn east on Main St. to Cottage Grove.

  • Turn south on Cottage Grove Ave. to Washington.

  • Washington St. to UHS parking lot.

Race Street will be closed to thru traffic between Iowa Street and Indiana Avenue beginning at 1:00 p.m. through the start of the parade. Once the parade starts, traffic along the parade route will only be obstructed for the time it takes for the parade to clear the area (approximately 15 minutes) on each leg of the parade. Northbound Cottage Grove will not be closed to traffic during the parade.

While we encourage supporters to watch the parade and cheer on our Tigers, drivers in and around the high school and the East Urbana neighborhood may want to avoid this area during the parade times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Everyone at Urbana High School and Urbana School District #116 appreciates the support the community shows to our students.
