July 4th Farmers Market

Don't forget to include the farmers market in your holiday plans!

Urbana's Market at the Square WILL be open on Saturday, July 4th from 7 a.m. to noon. 

Coming up this weekend: This Saturday, July 4th is Read at the Market with our friends from The Urbana Free Library! We're looking forward to hear what is new at the library and, of course, sign up for their summer reading program and get one of their awesome balloons.

Save the date:

• July 11th: Art at the Market featuring a FREE workshop called "Veggies are Beautiful" with Ellie Pizarrone and Maria Ludeke plus a FREE performance by Sam Payn. There will also be a Farmers Market Blood Drive thanks to a partnership with Community Blood Services of Illinois. And last but not least, the local WIC office will join Market staff at the big orange tent in the northwest corner to provide resources for customers wishing to redeem their WIC farmers market vouchers.


• July 18th: Join us for the free monthly farm linkage and nutrition programming just for kids ages 3-8 years old. The program is called Sprouts at the Market and"Farmers Market Food Lab" is the theme for July. Our friends at Chambanamoms.com will help us present the activities this month! You won't want to miss it.


• July 25th: The Urbana Fire Department will be on hand to teach us about fire safety and offer patrons a chance to extinguish a live fire! Plus, the local WIC office will join us to provide resources for patrons wishing to redeem their WIC farmers market vouchers.
