Urbana Schools Adds Shuttles to Parent/Teacher Conferences
All Urbana elementary schools, the middle school, high school, and early childhood school will be hosting parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, October 29 and Thursday, November 5. As a service to the district and community, First Student will provide free shuttle transportation for Urbana families during the conference times.
The parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, October 29 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, November 5 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the early childhood school, each of the elementary schools, UMS, and UHS. First Student will provide shuttle transportation in a continuous loop on both evenings.
The stops include:
- King Elementary (bus drop off-lane)
- Dr. Williams Elementary (bus drop off-lane)
- Leal Elementary (bus drop off along California)
- UMS/UHS campus (UMS parking lot)
- Ivanhoe neighborhood in north-east Urbana (stop at the main office area).
The buses will start running at 4:10pm from Ivanhoe, King, and Dr. Williams. The buses will then begin a continuous loop every 10-15 minutes between Ivanhoe, King, Dr. Williams, Leal and UMS/UHS. The shuttle will make their final run at 8:30pm on Oct. 29 and 7:30pm on Nov. 5. The rides are free for all Urbana families and there is no sign-up to use the shuttle transportation. Strollers will not be allowed on the buses, however there are no infant car seats or child carriers available.
