Cunningham Township Board
Cunningham Township is a unit of local government. It serves an area with the same boundaries as the City of Urbana and is funded by property taxes collected on real properties within the Township boundaries.
The Township is comprised of the Supervisor's Office and the Assessor's Office. The Supervisor's Office is the administrative office of the Township and also has the responsibility of issuing General Assistance welfare benefits to eligible persons living in Cunningham Township (City of Urbana). An additional program established at the Supervisor's Office is the Cunningham Township/City of Urbana Consolidated Social Service Grants Program which distributes grants to local non-profit agencies also serving low-income persons.
The Assessor's Office is responsible for determining the fair market value of taxable property within Cunningham Township so that the tax burden is distributed equitably.
Urbana City Council members serve ex-officio as the Township Board of the Town of Cunningham. The Board meets at 6:30pm the second Monday of each month in the City Council Chambers.
The Township Supervisor is Danielle Chynoweth.
The Township Assessor is Ivana Owona.

Prevailing Wage Act
The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project.
