Firemen's Pension Board

The Firemen’s Pension Fund Board of Trustees manages the Firemen’s pension fund as prescribed under Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Statutes of the State of Illinois.

Major activities of the fund include pension approvals, fund investment and pension payments. There are five members on the board: two members are appointed by the mayor; two firefighters from the current workforce are elected by their co-workers; and a retired firefighter is elected by fellow retirees.

Meetings of the pension board take place quarterly, on the last Friday of January, April, July and October at 9:30am in the second floor executive conference room at the City Building, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, and are open to the public. Special meetings may be scheduled as necessary.
