- Coordinates economic development activities that expand the City's commercial and industrial tax base
- Provides information on local market data and available buildings and sites
- Assists new and existing business development and manages Business and Development Incentives
- Manages the TIF Districts including TIF Incentives as well as the Urbana Enterprise Zone including Think Urbana
- Manages the Public Arts Program and Urbana's Market at the Square
- Represents the City in Visit Champaign County and the Champaign County Economic Development Corporation
Economic Development
The Economic Development Division actively promotes the growth and development of the City of Urbana by assisting in the retention and expansion of existing businesses, attracting new commercial and industrial development, and improving the quality of life for residents through the implementation of City plans.
