FY 2017-2018 City of Urbana & Cunningham Township Consolidated Social Service Funding Applications Available

Non-profit organizations seeking funds to operate social service programs benefiting Urbana residents are welcome to apply to the Consolidated Social Service Funding (CSSF) Pool.  Funds may be used for both services to clients and program operating costs. The application is posted below in both Microsoft Word and PDF versions. Completed applications will be due on April 7, 2017 at 4:00pm. Please note for the PDF version of the application that the text can become very small if the fillable boxes for the narrative questions are completely filled. If this occurs, please complete your response on a separate attached page to ensure that all parts of the response are legible.

Applications will also be available at the following locations:

  • City of Urbana, Community Development Services, 400 S. Vine St., Urbana;
  • Cunningham Township Supervisor’s Office, 205 W. Green St., Urbana.

All applicants are required to attend one of the Technical Assistance Training sessions at the Urbana City Council Chambers, 400 S. Vine St., on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 10:00am-11:00am or Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 10:00am-11:00am.

Contractor's Breakfast

The cities of Urbana, Champaign, Rantoul and Champaign County invite General Contractors and Sub-Contractors interested in participating in their various Housing Rehabilitation Programs to attend a free informational breakfast meeting on February 24, 2017 starting at 7:30am, El Toro, 2561 West Springfield Avenue, Champaign.

Closed: Urbana HOME Consortium Affordable Housing Request for Proposals

The Urbana Home Consortium is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations, for programs and projects that will seek to increase the supply of affordable housing available to low- and moderate- income households in Urbana, Champaign, and unincorporated Champaign County. The selected proposal(s) will be funded through HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds received by the Urbana HOME Consortium. 

One (1) original signed copy and one (1) electronically emailed copy must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Monday, February 27, 2017 (note: RFP document incorrectly states submissions are due on Friday, February 27, 2017). Submissions should be addressed to:

Market at the Square Pre-Season Meeting

Pre-Season Meeting Flyer

All returning and potential vendors and community groups are encouraged to attend the 2017 Market at the Square pre-season meeting.

  • Thursday, January 26, 2017
  • 3-5 p.m.
  • Urbana Civic Center, 108 West Water Street

The meeting will offer returning and potential participants the chance to learn about business marketing, how to create effective market displays, get the scoop on local market research and trends, and learn more about updates and changes to the 2017 season of Urbana's Market at the Square. There will also be time for questions and networking. There is no fee to participate in this event and anyone interested in participating in the 2017 is strongly encouraged to attend.

Applications for the 2017 season will be available here beginning February 1st.
