East Elm Street Closure at Intersection with Maple Street

Weather permitting, East Elm Street will be closed at its intersection with Maple Street starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 until 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 for replacement of a water main.

Access will be maintained to properties on East Elm Street and Maple Street but no thru traffic will be permitted on at the intersection of East Elm Street and Maple Street.

No detour route will be provided for this intersection closure.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you for your cooperation while this improvement is in progress.

Goodwin Avenue Closure

September 6, 2016 - 7:00am to September 9, 2016 - 3:30pm

Weather permitting, Goodwin Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Stoughton Street to thru traffic starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 until 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 for emergency telecommunications repair. Access will be maintained to properties on Goodwin Avenue but no thru traffic will be permitted on Goodwin Avenue between Main Street and Stoughton Street.

A detour route for Goodwin Avenue is provided via Stoughton Street to Harvey Street to Main Street.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you for your cooperation while this improvement is in progress.

South Country Squire Drive Street Closure

September 1, 2016 - 7:00am to September 5, 2016 - 7:00am

Weather permitting, South Country Squire Drive will be closed at its intersection with Squire Court starting at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 until 7:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2016 for replacement of a water main.

Access will be maintained to properties on South Country Squire Drive and Squire Court but no through traffic will be permitted on South Country Squire Drive at its intersection with Squire Court.

A detour route for South Country Squire Drive is provided via Hunter Street to East Rainbow View to Kinch Street. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas.

Bids will be received through 2:00 P. M., Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at the Public Works Center, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, and at said time the bids shall be opened and read publicly.  

A Pre-Bid Meeting has been scheduled on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 1:00 P. M., in the second-floor conference room at the Urbana Public Works Center, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802.  In the event the Bidder cannot attend the pre-bid meeting an individual tour can be made by contacting Vince Gustafson at (217) 384-2318 prior to 3:00P.M. Friday September 9, 2016. Bids will not be accepted from any vendor who does not attend this pre-bid meeting or scheduled individual tour.   

Champaign County Residential Electronics Recycling Collection - Registration Now FULL

We apologize for the inconvenience.  Please call the Recycling Coordinator at (217) 384-2302 with any questions as local recycling options exist for certain electronic devices.  Local governments have compiled a listing of local retailers, recyclers and non-profit organizations that will accept certain electronic devices for recycling or reuse.  See Where Do I Recycle It?

The next FREE Countywide Residential Electronics Collection Event will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Parkland College (2400 W. Bradley Avenue) in Champaign (you must use the Duncan Road entrance).

THERE IS A TWO (2) TV LIMIT PER VEHICLE, with a 10 item total limit. All types TVs will be accepted at this event. You MUST be a Champaign County resident to attend this event.
