Spring Leaf Collection 2020 (One Week Only)

Spring Leaf Collection 2020 will occur for ONE WEEK ONLY:

April 20 - 24, 2020

Please follow these guidelines:

Only leaves & non-woody plant material accepted
Leaves must be placed in paper lawn & garden bags
Place bagged leaves at street curb by 6:00 a.m. on U-Cycle collection day
No taped leaf bags (bags must be free from any tape)
No branches or brush accepted
Ripped/torn bags not accepted - bags must be intact for collection

Colbrook to Represent Ward 6

William Colbrook, Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety Parkland College, was sworn in as the new Urbana City Council member for Ward 6. He is seen here with his family, while Mayor Diane Wolfe marlin is swearing him in! Colbrook replaces outgoing Harold "Dean" Hazen who stepped down last month. Congratulations, Council Member Colbrook!

Busey Avenue Closure Between University Avenue and Clark Street

Road Closure Busey Avenue will be closed to thru traffic between University Avenue and Clark Street starting at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday March 11 to 5:00 p.m. Friday March 20. This closure is for a storm sewer connection as part of The Gather development project by Broeren Russo Builders, Inc.

Join the Urbana Arts and Culture Program for Market IN the Square Concerts, musical performances at the indoor farmer's market in Lincoln Square! Concerts occur on the 2nd Saturday of the month and feature live musical performances at 10am! On Saturday, Mar. 7th, the Urbana Arts and Culture Program is proud to feature the Bodacious String Band, playing live music while you shop our local market! Bring your family and witness a fantastic morning concert at Market in the Square - 2019-2020 Season! Artist of the Corridor: Women Who Painted

The City of Urbana's Arts and Culture Program and The Urbana Free Library invite you to an opening reception for Women Who Painted, an Artist of the Corridor Exhibition on March 5th, from 5:30-7p.m. at the City Hall (400 S. Vine Street).

Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public! The exhibit will be on display throughout the month of March in honor of Women's History Month.

Women Who Painted is a collection of digital and oil paintings by local artist, Paula McCarty. What started out as a desire to learn digital painting by selecting women painters as subjects, evolved into a growing visual archive. In honor of Women’s History Month, Women Who Painted celebrates the work of women visual artists and their impact on the global arts and cultural landscape.
