Mayor/City Council Strategic Goals for 2022-2023

The City of Urbana recognizes that stewardship of the city means addressing the needs of today's residents while actively planning for the future -- short and long term -- in a cohesive, coherent way. On April 11, 2022, the Urbana City Council passed Resolution No. 2022-04-031R: A Resolution Adopting Mayor/ City Council Strategic Goals 2022-2023. The Mayor/City Council Strategic Goals represent the core areas, strategies, and action steps that will be applied over the next year to guide Urbana on the path forward. 

In addition to maintaining essential municipal functions such as public infrastructure, public safety, neighborhood services, and economic development, the Mayor/City Council Strategic Goals for 2022-2023 will be as listed below. These priorities will not be at the exclusion of other citywide goals; each will require partnership and collaboration with other agencies and organizations.
