The plans and proposals are each a call for bids containing all requirements governing the letting and performance of the particular contract including but not limited to any applicable requirements for the payment of prevailing rates of wages for labor as required by law. Any questions regarding individual plans and proposals should be directed to the City of Urbana Public Works Department.

Public Safety Review Begins

The City of Urbana is working with BerryDunn, a national consulting firm, to evaluate its public safety service delivery model.


This project involves considering which services are to be provided by the police and fire departments, and which services are more appropriate for an alternative response model. For this project, the City has outlined three distinct yet interconnected project phases:

The City is seeking proposals to activate City-owned parking lot spaces through an agreement or agreements for activities that generate sales tax and/or provide public accommodations for art and culture. The City of Urbana is seeking statements of interest and qualifications from professional engineering firms to assist with the implementation of the City of Urbana’s capital improvement plan from fiscal year 2024 through fiscal year 2026 by providing surveying and engineering services for the following work categories: Asset Management, Construction Observation, Environmental Reports, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Geotechnical Services, Highways – Roads and Streets, Hydraulic Reports – Waterways, Lighting, Material Testing, Public Involvement, Sanitary Sewers, Stormwater Management, Structures – Highways, Surveying, Traffic and Highway Safety Studies, and Traffic Signals.

RFP: EV Charging Stations (Solicitation #2223-19) (CLOSED)

The City of Urbana is accepting proposals for provision of electric vehicle charging as a service to be located at the City of Urbana Parking Garage and/or other City owned properties by mutual consent.
