House Unveiling Workshop
The City of Urbana Historic Preservation Commission hosted a “house unveiling” workshop on Saturday, June 13, 2013 at 303 W. High Street. In the tradition of a barn raising, volunteers removed (unveiled) the aluminum siding from a circa 1902 Queen Anne House. Over 35 volunteers gathered at 8:30 AM and helped restore the house to its former glory in just one day! The house is now being prepared for a new paint job!
Bob Yapp, nationally reknown preservationist, author, and host of the former national PBS series, “About Your House with Bob Yapp,” gave two great seminars:
- The Hows and Whys of Removing Non-Original Siding
- How to Get an Affordable Long-lasting Paint Job for Your Historic House.
