A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax increase for the Cunningham Township for 2020 will be held on December 14, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., virtually at the City of Urbana Council Chambers, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana, IL 61801.

Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Phyllis D. Clark, Town Clerk, 400 South Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois 61801 at 217-384-2366.

NOTICE OF LOTTERY

A lottery is initiated when two candidates for the same position file papers of candidacy at the same time on the first day of the filing period.

Therefore, notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the City of the Urbana city building, 400 South Vine Street [FACE MASKS REQUIRED]. A lottery will be held to determine ballot placement for the two candidates for Mayor of the City of Urbana and the two candidates for Alderman for Ward 5. The lottery is for the Consolidated Primary to be held on February 23, 2021. All other candidates will appear on the ballot according to the time candidate papers were filed.

The following candidates will be assigned a number for the lottery and the number will be placed in a container and drawn randomly to determine placement:

ALDERMAN - WARD 5

2021 Urbana Arts Grant: Tiers I, II, and Arts in the Schools Deadline

The City of Urbana Arts and Culture Program announces the opening of the 2021 cycle of its Urbana Arts Grants Program. Up to $90,000 will be awarded to artists, arts organizations, and festival presenters for creative projects that enrich the lives of Urbana residents and visitors. This grant program is open to all disciplines in the arts on public display within spaces open to the public, including but not limited to creative writing, dance, film, video, music, theatre, visual arts, crafts, performing arts, spoken word, environmental arts, multimedia arts, architectural arts, landscape architecture, and emerging media. Applicants may apply electronically.
