New Development Proposed at Lincoln and University

Proposed Development "Gather" at University and Lincoln in Urbana, IL Dallas-based Rael Development Corporation and the City of Urbana are pleased to announce a proposal for a new mixed-use development at the intersection of University and Lincoln Avenues in the City of Urbana called Gather. Gather will contain approximately 200 apartments, 16 townhomes and 50 extended-stay rooms, along with nearly 15,000 square feet of lobby, retail and outdoor public areas. The project’s configuration, scale and design are the product of much analysis and collaboration between the developer, the City and Rael’s team of consultants.

Shop with a Cop a Success

Who had more fun? The kids? The staff? The officers? It looks like everyone did!

Thank you to the Urbana Police Department for organizing this great annual event, which began at the Civic Center. The families, staff and officers then loaded unto buses and rode out to Blain's Farm and Fleet for a fun-filled shopping extravaganza! Shopping Spree with UFD Our Urbana Fire Department serves the community in so many ways, that it's not surprising that they reach out to families that could use a little help during the holidays! With the help of Wal-Mart and Meijer, both located in Urbana, Urbana kids will have gifts under the Christmas tree this year.

The whole adventure begins at Serv-Pro in Urbana. The folks at Serv-Pro provide a safe and fun holiday adventure for the kids. While the parents go and shop at Meijer and Wal-Mart, their children get to hang out at Serv-Pro's facility that is converted to Christmas craft centers where kids can make ornaments, Jingle-Bell necklaces, and snowman slime; a game room where they can have a snow ball crabwalk and a Christmas game show with wrapped Xmas presents as prizes; and an activity room with bags, Pin-the-Nose-on-Frosty-the-Snowman game and a holiday bounce house. The entire Serv-Pro staff dressed as elves, donning Christmas lights and all with happy smiles.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY TO CELEBRATE LEGACY OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. FRIDAY, JANUARY 18

Public Invited to Free Event at the Vineyard Church in Urbana

The public is invited to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Vineyard Church in Urbana. This free event includes hors d'oeuvres at 4 p.m. and a program starting at 5 p.m. The evening will feature an awards ceremony, a keynote address and musical entertainment.

The Countywide Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee will present three awards to individuals and organizations within local communities that uphold the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. These awards recognize individuals and organizations that are making a positive impact in Champaign County through humanitarian efforts, community service and social justice initiatives.
