Horizontal Control Point Network
The City of Urbana Horizontal Control Network consists of 79 stations. These stations were established in 1997 utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) methods. All points in the network were established at a traditional accuracy of 1:50,000 (second-order). To aid in "conventional" surveying and for azimuth observations, each monument is intervisible with at least one other monument.
