Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Q.There appears to have been a steep drop in the number of units sold last year. Would you attribute that to market saturation, poor weather conditions, change to the amount of a subsidy or any other factors?

A.The Stormwater Utility Incentive for rain barrels did not change.  We don’t have an explanation for the outcomes of any sale.  The weather is typically partly sunny with a brief rain on this Saturday.

 

Q.Does the City make an effort to promote the sale and if so, how?

A.The City promotes the sale through our website, email, and a City Building poster.

 

Q.Does the City require the vendor to acquire any permits, and if so, at what cost?

A.No.

The Urbana Fire Department is accepting proposlas for five (5) Refurbished Philips MRX Monitors.

Closed: Request for Proposals - Fire Engineer Promotional Exam: Practical Assessment

The Urbana Fire Department is seeking Proposals for Fire Engineer Promotional Testing - Practical Assessment.

The purpose of this RFP is to select a qualified professional vendor to develop, validate, administer, and score assessment centers for the practical portion of the promotional testing for the position of Engineer in the Fire Department, per the specifications contained herein. The selected vendor will also analyze test results and provide final results.

Proposals will be received at the Urbana Fire Department, 400 S. Vine St., Urbana, Illinois 61801.

All vendors intending to respond to this RFP must supply contact information to Division Chief Derrick Odle at daodle@urbanaillinois.us upon receipt of this RFP in order to receive addenda and other information pertinent to this RFP.

The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive irregularities or technicalities.

Closed: Urbana HOME Consortium Affordable Housing Request for Proposals

The Urbana Home Consortium is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations, for programs and projects that will seek to increase the supply of affordable housing available to low- and moderate- income households in Urbana, Champaign, and unincorporated Champaign County. The selected proposal(s) will be funded through HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds received by the Urbana HOME Consortium.

CLOSED: Request for Bids for Brick Sidewalk Repair Project

Each BID must be accompanied by a BID BOND payable to the City of Urbana in the amount of five percent of the total amount of the BID. The Bid Bond of the three lowest bidders for the CONTRACT will be held until receipt of a signed CONTRACT and CONTRACT BOND. All other BID BONDS will be returned after comparison of the BIDS.

A CONTRACT BOND in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the City will be required for the faithful performance of the CONTRACT. The BID forms and plans may be examined and copies obtained at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802.
