Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Request for Bids: 2012 Sewer Lining Project

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on JULY 5, 2012 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:02 P.M. prevailing time on JULY 5, 2012 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 for the 2012 Sewer Lining Project (City Section 12-00513-00-SR) furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the cured-in-place full-length lining of approximately 300 lineal feet of 6-inch and 8,300 lineal feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer.


All of the sewers under these projects belong to the City of Urbana.

Updated Request for Bids on Boneyard Creek Improvements Project

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on Monday, July 9 2012 at the office of the City Engineer, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:30 P.M. prevailing time on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Urbana Civic Center, 108 East Water Street Urbana, IL 61801 for the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the Boneyard Creek Improvement Project.


The project includes construction of channel improvements, bridge and retaining walls, demolition, removal of sheet piling, concrete and asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, utility adjustments, lighting, earthwork and grading, landscaping, irrigation and miscellaneous amenities. The construction site is generally adjacent to the Boneyard Creek between Griggs Street and Broadway Avenue in the City of Urbana and includes the rehabilitation of Race Street and Broadway Avenue.

Bid# 1112-13 Tuck Pointing & Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) Replacement & Repainting

The City of Urbana, Department of Public Works, is accepting bids for Tuck Pointing and Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) Replacement for its Public Works building located at 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois and the repainting of its storage facility and Public Works building at 704 and 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois.


Bid proposals must be placed in an envelope, sealed and marked on the outside: “Tuck Pointing & Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) Replacement at 706 S. Glover Avenue & Repainting of 704 and 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois”, and include the Bid #: 1112-13.


All completed bids, mailed or delivered, are to be received no later than 2:30 PM on June 18, 2012 at the City of Urbana, Department of Public Works, 706 South Glover, Urbana, IL, 61802. Proposals received after this deadline will not be considered.


The City of Urbana reserves the right to waive any and all irregularities and to reject any or all bids.

Request for Bids--Cunningham Avenue Street Improvements

Sealed bids for furnishing materials, equipment, and labor necessary for City Section 12-00515-00-PV--Cunningham Avenue Street Improvements will be received by the City of Urbana at the office of the Director of Public Works, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois  61802 until 1:55 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, June 8, 2012 and publicly read aloud at 2:00 p.m. at said office.


The bid documents may be examined and copies obtained at the office of the Director of Public Works, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois  61802.

CLOSED: Computer Purchase Bids

BIDS ARE NOW CLOSED AS OF JUNE 1ST.


Proposals are being received by the City of Urbana to purchase 75 - Intel 3.3Ghz Core i5 Processor, Windows 7 compatible, FCC ‘B’ certified, mini-tower computers with 5 year warranty & ‘parts closet’.


Specifications and instructions may be obtained at no cost from the Collections Office of the Finance Department of the City of Urbana at 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, IL 61801. They are also available below.


All three forms should be completed and returned with the bid. Proposals for the computers will be accepted until 12:00 noon, Friday, June 1, 2012.


The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities or technicalities.
