Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Notice of Request For Proposals for Cellular Telephone Service

The City of Urbana is seeking competitive proposals to satisfy cellular telephone service and equipment needs. A set of sample bills for actual usage of current cellular telephone service for a typical month by the City of Urbana is provided. The bills are broken down into the preferred billing groups and show the detailed billing required.

All proposals must include: 

  • Examples and literature for equipment that is free with contract and cost of upgrading to other equipment. 
  • Map of coverage area. 
  • Roam areas, access fees, and long distance rates. 
  • Description of and features included. At a minimum, features must include call waiting, voice mail, detailed billing, and caller I.D. 
  • Description of ‘Push-To-Talk’ feature and associated costs, if any.

The City requires that a specific account representative be assigned to address inquiries, periodic reviews, changes, and problems. If you have any questions, please call N. Patrick Pioletti, Public Facilities Manager, at 217-384-2342.

Completed proposals are due no later than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011.

Please disregard and discount the previous copy of the “Design Intent Document Specifications” in the abovementioned bid documents for this bid process. Please use the updated attached ADDENDUM file in its place for this bid process.

Bids for Parking Lot #12 Construction Project

Sealed BIDS will be received until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time on AUGUST 31, 2011 and opened and read aloud publicly at 2:05 P.M. prevailing time on AUGUST 31, 2011 at the office of the City ENGINEER, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802 for the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the Parking Lot #12 Project (City Section 11-00507-00-PK).


The project includes constructing a new 4,482 square foot asphalt parking lot including storm sewer and other site work.
