Main Street from Scottswood Drive to University Avenue will be closed to through traffic starting at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 and ending at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, weather permitting, for paving of the pavement. Further information about the 2016 HMA Resurfacing Project can be found at http://www.urbanaillinois.us/projects. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Springfield Avenue Sanitary Sewer Extension has been awarded by the City of Urbana to Stark Excavating, Inc. The project award amount is $82,174.00. This project is funded by the Sanitary Sewer Benefit Tax. Weather permitting, this project will require the closure of all lanes on Springfield Avenue between McCullough Street and Birch Street starting on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, October 28, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. Access to all driveways will be maintained throughout construction.

The 2016 Concrete Patching Project – Part 2 has been awarded by the City of Urbana to Beniach Construction Company from Tuscola, Illinois. The project award amount is $240,862. This project is being funded with City Capital Replacement and Improvement Funds.

Weather permitting, the outside lane for westbound traffic on University Avenue will be closed between Harvey Street and Goodwin Avenue starting on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, October 14, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. University Avenue will remain open to through traffic at all times during the project. Traffic control will be in place to guide motorists through the areas where travel is reduced to one lane. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you for your cooperation while this work is in progress.
