Champaign-Urbana Area Bicycle Maps
The Champaign-Urbana Area Bicycle Map was produced collaboratively by Champaign County Bikes and the League of Illinois Bicyclists (now known as Ride Illinois) with input from the Cities of Urbana and Champaign and the University of Illinois. The City of Urbana also published a Bicycle Facility Map indicating existing and proposed bike lanes and paths throughout the city. These are intended to encourage bicycling as a healthy and enjoyable form of recreation and an energy-efficient, economical, and non-polluting form of transportation.
The map identifies off-road trails and suggests on-road routes for bicycle travel throughout the Champaign-Urbana area. The roads shown in the network are rated using three relative levels of cyclist comfort.
Map users are encouraged to read the safety tips on the back to become a more skillful, confident and safer bicyclist.
The Champaign County Greenways & Trails Map shows shared-use paths, bike paths, bike lanes, parks, open spaces, and places of interest in Champaign, Urbana, Savoy, Mahomet, Rantoul, and Champaign County. Detailed maps of four of the County's forest preserves are also included, as well as trail distances in Champaign-Urbana-Savoy, and State of Illinois bike laws.
Hard copies of these full-color 18x24 maps are available free to the public at the following locations.
