Weather AlertsHaving a plan could save you and your family from disaster!

As with anything, it’s always better to be prepared. Make a plan today. Your family may not be together if a disaster strikes, so it is important to know which types of disasters could affect your area. Know how you’ll contact one another and reconnect if separated. Establish a family meeting place that’s familiar and easy to find.

Put together a plan asking these four questions:

  1. How will I receive emergency alerts and warnings?
  2. What is my shelter plan?
  3. What is my evacuation route?
  4. What is my family/household communication plan?

Water Main Break

Date:
February 25, 2019 - 9:00am

Illinois American Water says, due to a water main break this morning, water service has been temporarily interrupted so crews can make repairs.

Barring any unforeseen issues, we expect repairs to be made later today and water service restored. Once service is restored, customers in the affected area will be on a boil order.

Any time pressure drops below 20 psi a boil order is required per the EPA to protect customers. Customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using for consumption, cooking, etc.

The area includes the 200-400 blocks of W University, 500 block of N Lake, 400 block of N Race, and 205 & 301 W Park Silver Creek, Windy City, and Lil’ Porgy’s.
