A community forum will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. at the Urbana Middle School cafeteria for parents who are interested in providing input to the Redistricting Committee for Elementary School Boundaries. This will be an opportunity for parents to voice their opinions before any changes are made to the current Elementary School Attendance Areas.

The University of Illinois' MLK Commemoration Planning Committee presents events throughout the month of January.
To celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday, assemblies are being held throughout Urbana School District Elementary Schools. Students and teachers will celebrate with songs, and other presentations to bring awareness to the great contributions to our society made by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Urbana High School Baseball team will be holding a MONSTER GARAGE SALE on Saturday, January 7th, starting at 8 am inside Lincoln Square Mall. They will have a large assortment of items ranging from t-shirts to Longaberger baskets, kitchen gadgets to toys.
The public is cordially invited to visit their public television station this Thursday, December 29th, from 4:30pm to 6 pm, as Urbana Public Television hosts an Open House and Membership Meeting. Come see where we are and what we do! There will be light refreshments, tours and socializing in the Urbana City Council Chambers beginning at 4:30pm, and a short business meeting at 5:30pm, which will include an update on the new website and a brainstorming session. Please join us!

The City of Urbana and Urbana Public Arts Commission invite the public to attend the dedication of a commemorative sign celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Champaign County Courthouse, to be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the north (Main Street) entrance to the Courthouse.
Designed by Joseph W. Royer and Frederick G. Brown, the Courthouse was originally dedicated on August 22, 1901. Mayor Laurel Lunt Prussing, Public Arts Commission chair Patricia Sammann, City Councilman Dennis Roberts, and Joseph W. Royer Arts and Architecture district subcommittee member Ilona Matkovszki will provide brief remarks. Hot beverages from Piato will be available and the event is free and open to the public. The Champaign County Courthouse is located on the corner of Main Street and Broadway Avenue in Downtown Urbana.
